Terms of Use

The terms that govern your use of this website, and how they relate to the separate terms of UtilityComply and AccredGuard.

Last updated: September 30, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of thecomplianceconsortium.com, operated by Compliance Consortium LLC. By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. This site versus the products

This website describes our company and our two products. UtilityComply and AccredGuard are separate software services with their own terms, service levels, and pricing, published on utilitycomply.com and accredguard.com respectively. Where the terms of a product conflict with these Terms of Use, the product's own terms govern your use of that product.

3. Permitted use

  • You may use this site for lawful, informational, and business evaluation purposes.
  • You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, interfere with its operation, or introduce malicious code.
  • You may not scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect content or contact information from this site, or use automated means to submit our forms.
  • You may not misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us or evaluating our products.

4. No professional advice

Content on this site — including descriptions of regulatory frameworks, penalties, accreditation standards, and readiness practices — is provided for general information about our products. It is not legal, regulatory, accounting, or compliance advice for your particular situation, and it does not create an attorney-client or consultant-client relationship.

Regulatory requirements and accreditation standards change, and their application depends on facts specific to your organization. Before acting on anything you read here, consult qualified counsel or a qualified compliance professional, and verify current requirements with the relevant regulator or accrediting body.

5. Third-party frameworks, marks, and non-affiliation

Compliance Consortium LLC is an independent software company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting as an agent of any regulator, standards body, or accrediting organization.

References to NERC, FERC, PHMSA, WECC, CPUC, CAISO, and other regulatory bodies are for identification and description only. Their names and marks belong to their respective owners.

CARF® is a registered trademark of CARF International. AccredGuard is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CARF International. AccredGuard supports preparation for and maintenance of accreditation; it does not grant accreditation, and accreditation decisions rest solely with the accrediting body.

6. Intellectual property

The site's content, design, text, graphics, and software — excluding third-party marks — are owned by Compliance Consortium LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for internal business evaluation. Any other reproduction, distribution, modification, or commercial use requires our prior written permission.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

This site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content is current or complete.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compliance Consortium LLC and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of this site — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising from your use of this site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Compliance Consortium LLC from claims, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising from your misuse of this site or your violation of these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to Chris@thecomplianceconsortium.com, or by mail to Compliance Consortium LLC, Sacramento, California.
